Michael Rucker, full name Michael Patrick Rucker is a professional baseball player of American descent currently serving as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Mike is 1.85 m and weighs 88 kg.



He was born on April 27, 1994, in Columbus, Mississippi to Jeffry Rucker and Susan Rucker. He was a baseball player at the Auburn Riverside High School in Auburn where he was also a student. When he completed high school, he first enrolled at Gonzaga University and later got transferred to Brigham Young University (BYU) after his freshman year at Gonzaga.

After completing college, the Chicago Cubs drafted him in the 11th round of the 2016 MLB draft. He signed with the Cubs for an amount of $180,000 as a signing bonus. He made his professional debut in 2017 for the Arizona League Cubs of the minor league.



During the 2019 Rule 5 draft, the Baltimore Orioles selected him and returned him to the Cubs in March 2020. The minor league season in 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic thus he did not play in any game.

In July 2021, the Chicago Cubs selected his contract and promoted him to their active roster. He made his MLB debut that night when the Cubs played against the Washington Nationals.
