Elijah Hamilton was born to Ruffin and Dena Hamilton. His dad, Ruffin, was an NFL player with the Falcons and the Packers between the years 1994 and 2000.

In 2016, Hamilton completed his education at Blessed Trinity Catholic. He was the 2015 Defensive Player of the Year and also lettered in football.

Hamilton attended Vanderbilt between 2016 and 2020, during which time he played in 41 games for the Commodores. In 2020, he won the position of team captain.
