Manuel Rodriguez, born Manuel De Jesus Rodríguez is a professional baseball player of Mexican descent who currently plays as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs baseball team of the Major League Baseball.

Manuel is from Mérida in Mexico. He was born on August 6, 1996, and had his non-professional baseball career there. Manuel was a member of the Mexican league. He played for the Leones de Yucatán between 2014 and 2016.

He made his professional debut in 2014 for the Leones de Yucatán baseball team in Mexico. Manuel played for the Leones de Yucatán till 2016 when his contract was traded to the Chicago Cubs in July for $400,000.

He then began playing in minor leagues for the Cubs. He first played for the Eugene Emeralds and the South Bend Cubs in 2017. He spent the 2018 and 2019 baseball seasons with the South Bend team and Beach Pelicans.

The Cubs added Manuel to their 40-man roster for the 2020 season and he began the 2021 season playing with the Tennessee Smokies and the Iowa Cubs. In June 2021, he was selected to play in the All-Star Futures Game.

On July 30, 2021, the Cubs promoted him to the major leagues for the first time and he made his MLB debut that same night by throwing a scoreless inning with two strikeouts in relief.
