Who is Alex Cobb?

Alexander Miller Cobb is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the San Francisco Giants. He was selected in the fourth round of the 2006 MLB Draft and debuted in the big leagues in 2011.



Cobb was born in the city of Boston in the United States of America. Rick Cobb, an accountant, and Lindsay Miller-Cobbare his Parents.

For the first two years of his life, he lived in North Reading, Massachusetts, before moving to Vero Beach, Florida, with his family owing to employment.



Cobb worked as a batboy for the Los Angeles Dodgers for three years during spring training at Holman Stadium in Vero Beach. He was a lifelong supporter of the Boston Red Sox.


Cobb earned his high school diploma from Vero Beach in 2006. As a junior, he was an all-state pitcher, going 8–2 with a 0.62 ERA and 139 strikeouts in 90 innings thrown.

After going 5–3 with a 1.06 ERA and 139 strikeouts in 74 innings as a senior, he was named the Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers All-Area Baseball Player of the Year, and batting .342 with five home runs and 17 runs batted in (RBIs).

Cobb committed to play college baseball at Clemson University, where he also played quarterback for the football team.
