Oberg and the Rockies reached an agreement on a one-year, $1.3 million contract on January 10th, 2019. Having been diagnosed with blood clots in both of his arms, the Rockies placed Oberg on the 60-day disabled list on August 19, 2019, thereby ending his season.

With a 6-1 record, a 2.25 earned run average, five saves, and 58 strikeouts in 56 innings, Oberg had a strong year in 2019. With blood clots in his right arm, Oberg was placed on the 45-day disabled list and was unable to play in the 2020 season, ending his career.

A blood clot in Oberg’s throwing elbow necessitated a third operation on that date in 2021 to remove it. As of March 27, Oberg had undergone surgery and had been placed on the 60-day disabled list.
