Ty Montgomery competes in American football for the National Football League’s New England Patriots as a running back and wide receiver. He is 98 kilograms and 1.83 meters tall. At St. Mark’s School of Texas in Dallas, Texas, he excelled in football, track, basketball, baseball, and lacrosse. He played wide receiver, running back, and quarterback for the football team the Lions.

He ran for 823 yards on 93 attempts, caught 17 passes, and scored 10 touchdowns as a senior. He recorded 118 receptions and 36 total touchdowns throughout the course of his high school career. He played collegiate football for the Stanford Cardinal football team at Stanford University from 2011 to 2014.

He ended his senior year with 144 rushing yards, three touchdowns, 604 receiving yards, and 61 receptions. He scored once on the ground as well. By the time his collegiate career was up, he had 172 receptions for 2,125 yards and 15 touchdown grabs. He was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

In October 2018, he was traded to the Baltimore Ravens. In April 2019, he joined the New York Jets. In the 2019 season, he has a total of 32 carries for 103 running yards and 13 receptions for 90 receiving yards. He signed with the New Orleans Saints in May 2020. In March 2022, he committed to the New England Patriots, signing a two-year, $3.6 million deal.
