Nick Madrigal, the professional baseball second baseman affectionately nicknamed “Nicky Two Strikes” plays for the Chicago Chubs of Major League baseball.

Growing up, Madrigal had his formal high school education at Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove, California, where he was teammates with St. Louis Cardinals baseball outfielder Dylan Carlson.

He began playing baseball as an amateur in his high school days where he batted .449 with 28 stolen bases in his senior year in the year 2015.

The Cleveland Indians drafted Nick in the 17th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft but turned down the selection as he refused to sign with the baseball team.

He furthered his education by enrolling at Oregon State University where he played college baseball for the Beavers. His rookie days with the Oregon State University saw Nick in 49 games and hit .333/.380/.456 with one home run and 29 runs batted in (RBIs).

Upon his spectacular performances during his college days, Nick was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection and the College World Series All-Tournament Team respectively.
