David Ojabo Contract, Salary and Net Worth

David Ojabo, a pass rusher out of the University of Michigan, was taken 45th overall by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2022 NFL Draft. He was the final player in his draft class to sign, and the reason for the delay has been revealed.

Aaron Wilson of the Pro Football Network reports that Ojabo signed a four-year, $7.9 million contract with the Ravens, including a $2.9 million signing bonus and two years fully guaranteed.

However, it appears that the main issue was the amount of guaranteed money in the third year of the deal. It appears that Ojabo and his agent were successful in their attempt to negotiate a new contract.

Since the previous 45th overall pick didn’t earn any guaranteed money in his third season, ESPN’s Field Yates says that Ojabo was able to have $700,000 of the $1.4 million contract in his third year guaranteed, which is a significant concession from Baltimore.

As Ojabo is now rehabilitating from a torn Achilles he sustained in the pre-draft process, which caused him to fall from a probable first-round pick to the Ravens’ lap in the second round, the third year seems extremely critical for him.

The former Michigan standout will likely miss his whole first season, giving him no chance to impress the Ravens in his first year. If Ojabo’s Achilles heals slowly, he still has a fighting chance of staying with the team thanks to the 50% guarantee in his third year.
