Major League Baseball pitcher Kirby Snead is an American who plays for the Oakland Athletics. In 2021, he made his MLB debut with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Snead attended Santa Fe High School in Alachua, Florida, his birthplace. After graduating from high school undrafted, he joined the University of Florida and played for the Florida Gators for three seasons.

Snead competed in 32 games as a freshman and recorded a 3–0 win–loss record, 2.40 earned run average (ERA), and 22 strikeouts in 4133 innings pitched.

In 28 games played as a sophomore, Snead went 1-0 with a 3.15 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 3433 innings pitched.

In his final season with the Gators, Snead led the NCAA with 41 bullpen appearances, going 3–1 with a 2.50 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 3523 innings.

Snead was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 10th round of the 2016 MLB draft. He signed with the Dunedin Blue Jays of the Advanced-A level and was given a $125,000 signing bonus.

A solitary appearance for Dunedin led to him being sent to Lansing, where he spent the rest of the year. Snead had a 3.62 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 2713 innings in 14 bullpen appearances.

A few weeks into June, he was promoted to Dunedin from Lansing. Snead finished the year with a 7-2 record, a 1.79 ERA, 56 strikeouts in 42 innings, and not a single home run surrendered to his credit.
