Dylan was born on October 23, 1988, to parents Jeff Carlson ( Father ) and Caryn Carlson (Mother). According to the reports he was selected by the Cardinals in the first round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft and he became one of the top prospects in baseball. He made his first appearance in the year 2020.

He is a product of Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove, California where he featured in baseball under his dad at the time. At University he began playing at the age of 14 as a freshman.
