Brad Hawkins contributed to Camden High School’s varsity football team’s record of 28-5 over the course of three seasons.
Because of his explosive play abilities while at Camden, Hawkins earned the nickname “Big Play Brad” during his time there.
In the class of 2016, he was ranked as the 53rd best wide receiver prospect in the country and the 235th best overall prospect.
During his time at Camden, Hawkins also participated in the sport of basketball. Over the course of his career, he played in 87 games and averaged 12.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per contest.
During the outdoor track season in 2015, he posted a time of 22.50 seconds in the 200-meter dash and a 6-2 performance in the high jump.
On July 3, 2015, Hawkins made his commitment to the University of Michigan.
He chose Michigan over South Carolina, Rutgers, and Temple, but due to qualification concerns, he spent a year at Suffield Academy getting ready for college.
He was one of five New Jersey players that declared for the Wolverines at the time, joining teammate Ron Johnson, who made his commitment to the university on June 25, 2016.

As part of their roster move to add DT Eddie Goldman, the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday confirmed the release of Safety Brad Hawkins.
23-year-old Michigan native Hawkins joined the Falcons in May as an undrafted free agent.
Hawkins made 113 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, zero interceptions, eight pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and two forced fumbles during the course of his five-year college career.
