The Kansas City Royals selected him in the 29th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft. He formerly played in the Major League Baseball with the Kansas City Royals, with whom he debuted in 2017.

Junis made 27 starts for the Wilmington Blue Rocks and Northwest Arkansas Naturals in 2015, with a combined 5–12 record with a 3.78 ERA.

Junis pitched in eight games for the 2020 Kansas City Royals, going 0-2 with a 6.39 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 25.1 innings thrown. Junis pitched for the Royals in 16 games in 2021, collecting a 5.26 ERA and 41 strikeouts in 39.1 innings.
