Manuel Elías Piña Reyes is simply known in baseball as Manny Piña. He plays as a catcher for the Atlanta Braves baseball team. He is of Venezuelan descent and has been with the Braves since 2022. Manny earns an annual salary of $4 million per his contract with the Braves.

Manny was born on June 5, 1987, in Barquisimeto in Venezuela. He grew up and had his amateur baseball career there. He was signed by the Texas Rangers team in 2005 and he began his professional career that same season after he was assigned to play for the AZL Rangers.

Manny did not play during the 2006 minor league season as he was recovering from right elbow surgery. When the 2007 season began, he played for the AZL Rangers and also played for the Clinton Lumber Kings. He spent the 2008 minor league season playing for both the Bakersfield Blaze and Frisco RoughRiders.

In 2009, he was traded by the Rangers to the Kansas City Royals. In July 2011, the Royals added him to their active 40-man roster. He made his MLB debut on August 3 2011 for the Royals. In January 2014, he signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners.

The Detroit Tigers purchased his contract from the Mariners in June that year and in December 2015, the Tigers traded him to the Milwaukee Brewers. The Atlanta Braves signed him on a two-year contract worth $8 million at the end of the 2021 season.
