A Cuban professional baseball pitcher with the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball, Johan Oviedo (born March 2, 1998) is the team’s ace pitcher.
On July 2, 2016, Oviedo signed as an international free agent with the St. Louis Cardinals and was assigned to the DSL Cardinals.
2017 saw him play for the Johnson City Cardinals and the State College Spikes, splitting time between both teams. In 2018, he was promoted to the Peoria Chiefs, where he spent the season before joining the Springfield Cardinals for the 2019 season.
