Where Is Dylan Coleman From?

Dylan Coleman is from Potosi, Missouri, United States.

Coleman was a player to be named later (PTBNL) in the Trevor Rosenthal trade. He was a fourth-round choice in the 2018 MLB Amateur Draft.

He was a flamethrowing right-handed pitcher with consistent delivery and a projectable frame when he joined the Royals’ minor system.

That still applies to him, but his accomplishments since joining the organization have been even more outstanding.

Coleman pitched in the minor leagues for 57-2/3 innings in the season, alternating between Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha.

He had a 2.92 ERA (2.14 FIP) and a whopping 13.50 K/9 in 24 2/3 innings with the Naturals. These numbers were 3.55 (2.57) and 15.27 in 33 innings with the Storm Chasers.

Coleman’s fastball-slider combination was causing a lot of swings and misses, forcing the MLB team to promote him near the close of the year.

Coleman allowed just one walk and one run in 6-1/3 innings with the Royals last summer, striking out seven batters. The organization’s No. 22 prospect made the Opening Day roster after a strong spring.

His three innings pitched in 2022 are still just short of 10 innings pitched at the top level of baseball, but he’s done nothing but pick up where he left off.

Coleman has thrown one inning three times this season, striking out four batters each time. He hasn’t walked a batter yet and has only given up two hits.

His fastball velocity has remained quite consistent, averaging 97.6 mph and peaking at 100.6 mph. He has a mid-80s slider that can reach 88 mph when needed to compliment his fastball
