Alejandro Kirk is a Mexican professional baseball catcher for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball. He was born on November 6, 1998, and is currently 23 years old. The baseball player comes from Tijuana, Mexico, and began playing baseball at the age of three.
Kirk grew up as a fan of Albert Pujols and the baseball team Saint Louis Cardinals. His Little League team was coached by his father Juan Manuel Kirk. Kirk has two siblings; an older brother Juan Manuel Jr and a younger brother Andres Kirk.
Kirk was discovered by the Toronto Blue Jays scout Dean Decillis at the Showcase held by the Toros De Tijuana of the Mexican League. Kirk was drafted by the team on September 24, 2016, and received a bonus of $7,500 signing bonus with the Toros receiving $22,500 to release him.
Kirk made his professional debut with the rookie-level Gulf Coast League Blue Jays in 2017 and appeared in one game. H played the entire season with the Rookie Advanced Bluefield Blue Jays and recorded a .35 or batting average with ten home runs and 57 batted in RBI 58 games.
In 2019, Kirk was promoted to play with the Class A Lansing Lugnuts and promoted again to the Advanced-A Dunedin Blue Jays. He finished the year with 44 RBI, and 56 walks against 39 strikeouts in 92 games. On February 7, 2020, the Blue Jays invited Kirk to spring training.
