How Much Does J.D. Davis Make?

J.D. Davis will make a  base salary of $2,760,000 for the 2022 season

J.D. Davis agreed to terms with the New York Mets on a one-year deal worth $2,760,000, with $2,760,000 guaranteed and an annual average salary of $2,760,000.

Davis and the Mets reached an agreement on a one-year, $2.76 million contract on Tuesday, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post. The deal avoids arbitration.

Following a second straight season in which his offensive production fell far behind the pace of his breakout year (.896 OPS), Davis will not see a significant rise in his salary from his current contract ($2.1 million) in 2021, according to the league’s wage schedule.

With a .285/.384/.436 slash line (130 wRC+), the 28-year-old was at the very least a well-above-league-average producer in 2021;

however, his lack of defensive utility, along with the Mets better options at the corner-infield and corner-outfield positions, limited his playing time prospects.

Davis has returned to full health after undergoing surgery in October to address a hand injury that plagued him at various points last season.

However, even with the addition of a designated hitter in the National League, the Mets don’t appear to have room in their starting lineup for him in the regular season.
