Jack Rafe Flaherty is one of the professional baseball pitchers with the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team of Major League Baseball. He is 1.93 m tall and weighs 102 kg.

He grew up in Los Angeles where he attended Harvard-Westlake School and played for the baseball team the school. When he completed high school, he was named the 2014 Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of California and the Los Angeles Times also selected him as their baseball player of the year. The St Louis Cardinals drafted him in 1st round of the 2014 MLB draft.

Although he had the intention of going to play college baseball at the University of North Carolina, he decided to sign with the Cardinals instead. He began his professional career that year with the Cardinals of the Gulf Coast League. He received a signing bonus of $2 million after he signed with the Cardinals. Before the 2016 season, Baseball America ranked him as the third-best prospect in the Cardinals’ system.

Jack spent the 2016 season with the Palm Beach Cardinals and began the 2017 season with the Springfield Cardinals before he was promoted in September that year to the major leagues.

He made his MLB debut that day he was promoted when the Cardinals played against the San Francisco Giants. The Cardinals named him their 2017 Minor League Pitcher of the Year and in March 2022, he signed a one-year contract of $5 million with the Cardinals to avoid salary arbitration.
