Charles Alfred Morton IV is professionally known as Charlie Morton when it comes to American baseball. He plays baseball for the Atlanta Braves baseball team. He plays as a pitcher for the team and earns an annual salary of  $15 million from the Braves.



He was drafted during the 2002 MLB draft by the Atlanta Braves team. The Braves assigned him to make his professional debut that very year by making him play with the GCL Braves. He spent the 2003 season with the Danville Braves. For the 2004 and 2005 seasons, he was with the Rome Braves.

Charlie was added to the Brave’s active 40-man roster in November 2007. He made his MLB debut in June 2008 after he was promoted to the major leagues earlier that year. The Braves traded him in June 2009 to the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for the Pirates till they traded him to the Philadelphia Phillies in December 2015.



Charlie later signed with the Houston Astros a two-year contract in November 2016. In 2018, Charlie signed with the Tampa Bay Rays a two-year contract that was worth $30 million. On November 24, 2020, the Atlanta Braves signed a one-year, $15 million contract with him and in September 2021, Charlie and the Braves agreed to a one-year contract extension.
