Jake Woodford is an American professional baseball pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB).



At a very tender age, Jake started playing baseball while schooling at Plant High School in Tampa, Florida, where he played baseball and was teammates with Kyle Tucker.

After his High School education, he enrolled at the University of Florida to play college baseball. Jake Woodford was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals with the 39th overall pick in the 2015 Major League Baseball draft.



Following his MLB draft with the Cardinals, Jake began playing in minor league and the first team he played for was the Gulf Coast Cardinals and spent all of 2015 there, pitching to a 1–0 record and a 2.39 ERA in eight games.

Still playing in minor leagues, he joined the Peoria Chiefs in the 2016 season where was named a Midwest League All-Star.

He kept playing minor league games from 2015 until 2020 when he got promoted to the major leagues. On August 15, he made his major league debut against the Chicago White Sox.
