McKinley Hicks is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals in the United States. He was picked in the third round of the 2015 MLB draft by the Cardinals, and he made his MLB debut in 2018.

 

Hicks went to Klein Oak High School in Klein, Texas, until his senior year, when he transferred to Cypress Creek High School in Houston, Texas.

He committed to playing college baseball at Tulane University.

Hicks was taken in the third round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft out of Cypress Creek High School, and he signed with the St. Louis Cardinals for $600,000, foregoing his Tulane commitment.

 

In 2016, he made his professional debut with the Rookie Appalachian League’s Johnson City Cardinals before being promoted to the Class A Short Season New York–Penn League’s State College Spikes throughout the season.

 

He was 6–2 with a 2.97 ERA in 12 starts for both teams.
