Scott Benjamin-Morton Effross (born December 28, 1993) is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Chicago Cubs. He was a baseball player at Indiana University. The Cubs drafted him in the 15th round of the 2015 MLB Draft. In 2021, he made his MLB debut.

Effross is a Jewish native of Twinsburg, Ohio. He grew up as a member of Congregation Shir Shalom and pitches while wearing a Star of David necklace. He was a baseball player at Twinsburg High School in 2012.



He had an 8–1 win-loss record with a 1.52 earned run average (ERA) in 55 innings pitched as a senior, striking out 60 hitters while allowing 14 walks.

He also played first base for the squad and batted.380 his final year. In 2011, and 2012, he was named to the Plain Dealer High School Baseball All-Star squad, the Northeast Ohio Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Team, and the All-Ohio Academic Team, as well as being named Mizuno All-Ohio in 2012.
