Brandon Michael Crawford (born January 21, 1987) is a Major League Baseball shortstop who currently plays for the San Francisco Giants.
Crawford was a member of the University of California, Los Angeles baseball team (UCLA). The Giants chose him in the fourth round of the 2008 MLB draft.
In 2011, he made his MLB debut. He became the sixth player in MLB history to smash a grand slam in his debut game, as well as the first shortstop to do it in a postseason game.
He’s a three-time All-Star (2015, 2018, and 2021), four-time Gold Glove Award winner (2015–2017, and 2021), and two-time Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Award winner (2012 and 2016), and the 2015 Silver Slugger Award winner at shortstop.
Crawford has played the most games at shortstop for the Giants in team history, and he was third among active players in games played at shortstop at the end of the 2021 season.
