In his first season of professional baseball, Wick was a catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals.



He played with the Gulf Coast Cardinals of the Class A Gulf Coast League and has had an overall .156 batting average across 23 games. In the course of the season, he surrendered a total of 12 passed balls.

He was a member of the Johnson City Cardinals in 2013. He hit a home run. More than 250 with 10 home runs and 35 RBI in 56 appearances. He played right field and catcher for most of his time in the field.



With the State College Spikes and Peoria Chiefs in 2014, Wick moved to outfield and hit .292 with 20 homers and 60 RBIs in 74 games for both teams. While he made 64 starts in right field, he also appeared in seven games in the outfield.

While playing for the Palm Beach Cardinals in 2015, Wick had a successful season. With the bat, he got off to a poor start. In 33 games, he scored 198 runs while playing right field.

During the season, he was a pitcher for the Gulf Coast Cardinals, allowing two runs in two innings of relief work.

While pitching for the Palm Beach Cardinals and Springfield Cardinals in 2016, he had an overall record of 2–0 with an earned run average of 2.44.

He also walked 20 times and fanned 57 times in 44.1 innings. During the Arizona Fall League season, the Cardinals assigned Wick to the Glendale Desert Dogs and signed him to their 40-man roster.

He pitched to a 4.50 ERA for the Desert Dogs.
