Is Zack Short Still With The Tigers?

Yes, Zack Short is still with the Detroit Tigers.

Short was traded to the Detroit Tigers for Cameron Maybin on August 31, 2020, just before the trade deadline.

He did not play in a minor league game in 2020 since the minor league season was canceled due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

Short got promoted to the major leagues for the first time on April 21, 2021.

He made his MLB debut against the Pittsburgh Pirates as the starting third baseman on that day. Short’s first MLB hit came on April 23, when he singled off Kansas City Royals pitcher Mike Minor.

Short hit his first MLB home run, a two-run home run, against Houston Astros starter Framber Valdez on June 26. He had a .141 batting average in 61 games during the 2021 season.

The Detroit Tigers are in the midst of a rebuild, and the front office is beginning to evaluate players at several positions.

Short was the recipient of a phone call recently. Short was acquired in a last-minute trade deadline transaction including Cameron Maybe from the Chicago Cubs in 2020.

Shot got his chance in the big leagues at long last, but it was short-lived.

Short was sent back to the alternate training facility after Miguel Cabrera was activated off the Injured List (IL).

Short gets irritated when he is “first man up” over Paredes, who deserves a chance after his 2020 appearances.

In a Tigers uniform, he appeared in 34 of the team’s 60 games in 2020, and he is expected to return.

Paredes had a good 34-game run in 2020 after being called up alongside Casey Mize and Tarik Skubal.

He had a .220/.278/.290 batting line with five extra-base hits, six RBI, eight walks, and 24 strikeouts.

Paredes is unique in that he is a defender who can also play on the left side of the field.

Prior to the re-signing of Jonathan Schoop this winter, it appeared that Paredes would be getting some time at second base.

There’s no way this is a positional issue.
