In Vacaville, California, Gonsolin attended Vacaville High School. He was 4-1 with a 2.60 ERA as a senior. He attended and played collegiate baseball at St. Mary’s College of California after being undrafted in the 2012 MLB draft.

In 18 games as a senior in 2016, he threw to a 3-3 record with a 3.86 ERA. The Los Angeles Dodgers selected him in the ninth round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft.



Gonsolin began 2019 with the Oklahoma City Dodgers before being called up on June 26, 2019, to make his debut as a starter against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
