Mychal Givens, born Mychal Antonio Givens is an American born professional baseball player who plays as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Mychal began playing baseball at Henry B. Plant High School where he had his high school education. He was named the All-State star during his junior year and senior year in high school.



Mychal played for the USA 18-and-under national baseball team and the Aflac All-American High School Baseball Game in 2007 and 2008.

The Baltimore Orioles selected Mychal in the 2009 MLB draft when he completed high school. Mychal decided to sign with the Orioles to play professional baseball than to play college baseball at Oklahoma State University.



He was given a signing bonus of $800,000 for agreeing to play for the Orioles. He was promoted to the major leagues by the Orioles in June 2015. He made his MLB debut on June 24 that year for the Orioles.

In 2017, Mychal helped Team USA to win the gold medal at the 2017 World Baseball Classic games. He was traded in August 2020 by the Orioles to the Colorado Rockies.

The Rockies traded him a year later in July 2021 to the Cincinnati Reds. In March 2022, Mychal and the Chicago Cubs signed a one-year contract.
