Andrew was born Andrew Stefan McCutchen in Fort Meade, Florida, in the United States. Lorenzo Mccutchen and Petrina Swan are his parents.

His father was a running back for Carson-Newman University’s football team. In 1989, though, his father retired from the NFL and returned to Florida to be with his family.

Only until his father became a Christian pastor did his mother marry him in 1992. Loren, his sister, was his companion as he grew up.

McCutchen received his education at Fort Meade High School, where he was a member of the baseball team.

He also signed with the University of Florida, but instead of attending Florida, he began his professional career with the Pirates.
