Marcus Earl Stroman is an American professional baseball pitcher simply called Marcus Stroman in baseball. He plays as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs baseball team.  His jersey number is 0 which makes him the first person to ever have such a jersey number in the Cubs team.

He was born to Adlin Auffant, mother and Earl Stroman, father on May 1, 1991, in Medford, New York in the USA.  He has two siblings, Jayden Stroman and Sabria Stroman.

Marcus’s non-professional baseball career started when he attended Patchogue-Medford High School in Medford. He played for the baseball team of the school till he completed it in 2009.



The Washington Nationals drafted him in the 18th round of the 2009 MLB draft when he was done with high school but he did not sign with the team as he wanted to play college baseball for the Duke Blue Devils baseball team at Duke University.

Marcus graduated from the University in May 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology.  He was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 22nd overall draft of the 2012 MLB draft whiles still in college and he became the first Duke player to be selected in the first round of the draft.

The Blue Jays promoted him to the majors on May 3, 2014, The following day, he made his MLB debut for the team. The Blue Jays traded Marcus in July 2019 to the New York Mets and in December 2021, the Chicago Cubs came in and signed him on a three-year contract worth $71 million.
