Will Atlanta draft a QB?

Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are a professional American football team based in Atlanta. The Falcons compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) South division.

In 1962, the American Football League (AFL) brought professional football to Atlanta for the first time by holding two preseason games there.

The first game was between the Denver Broncos and the Houston Oilers, and the second game was between the Dallas Texans and the Oakland Raiders. Both games were played at the Georgia Dome.

The American Football League (AFL) conducted another exhibition game two years later, and this time it featured a matchup between the New York Jets and the San Diego Chargers.

The city of Atlanta decided to begin pursuing professional football in 1965, the same year that the Atlanta–Fulton County Stadium (back then known as simply Atlanta Stadium) was constructed. At the time, Atlanta Stadium was simply known as Atlanta Stadium.

One separate organization, which had been involved in the promotion of NFL exhibition games in Atlanta, applied for franchises in both the AFL and the NFL. This group acted solely on its own, and there was no assurance that it would be granted stadium rights.

Another group stated that they had already put down a deposit on an AFL club in order to secure their spot.

Will Atlanta draft a QB?

During the second day of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons ended the league’s quarterback drought. Desmond Ridder, a quarterback, was taken by the Falcons with the 74th overall selection in the third round of the draft on Friday night.

The quarterback from Cincinnati was chosen in the second round of the 2022 draft, becoming the first to be chosen as the overall No. 20 pick since Kenny Pickett in 2021.

Ridder will join an Atlanta Falcons team that is currently in the process of rebuilding after the team just dealt away former NFL MVP Matt Ryan.

In this offseason, the Falcons made Marcus Mariota their new starting quarterback, but they still needed to find a long-term successor for Matt Ryan.
