His career didn’t take off right away because he was the youngest regular (age 17) in the Rookie-level Appalachian League in his pro debut in 2018, played only 18 games in 2019 due to hamstring and foot injuries, and missed 2020 due to the pandemic shutdown.
His potential was clear last season, which he began in extended spring training before hitting the field .303/.398/.686 in 49 games at three levels, including 14 home runs in 27 games at High-A.
