The Baltimore Orioles first baseman and outfielder, Joseph Anthony “Trey” Mancini III, is an American professional baseball first baseman and outfielder. In 2016, he made his MLB debut.



As a senior at Winter Haven High School in Winter Haven, Florida, Mancini hit .480 with six home runs.

He went to the University of Notre Dame after high school and majored in political science while playing college baseball for the Fighting Irish.



He was a member of the New England Collegiate Baseball League’s Holyoke Blue Sox in 2011 and the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Harwich Mariners in 2012.

He hit .389/.431/.603 in 57 games as a junior at Notre Dame, with seven home runs and 54 RBIs.

In the eighth round of the 2013 MLB draft, the Orioles selected Mancini. In the same year, he signed with the Aberdeen IronBirds of the New York–Penn League’s Class A-Short Season and made his professional debut.

He batted .328 with three home runs and 35 RBIs in 68 games with Aberdeen.

He started the 2014 season with the Class A South Atlantic League’s Delmarva Shorebirds before being promoted to the Class A-Advanced Carolina League’s Frederick Keys midway through the season.

He hit .284 with 10 home runs and 83 RBIs in 137 games between the two teams.

He started the 2015 season with Frederick before being promoted to the Class AA Eastern League’s Bowie Baysox throughout the season.

Mancini hit .341/.375/.563 during 136 games, with 21 home runs, 89 RBIs, and 43 doubles.
