Seth Lugo

Seth Lugo is an American professional baseball pitcher for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2016.

At Centenary College of Louisiana, Lugo was a member of the Centenary Gentlemen’s baseball team and attended Parkway High School in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Lugo had an earned run average of 5.31 in three seasons with Centenary (ERA). During the 2011 MLB draft, the New York Mets drafted him at No. 1,032 overall. The Mets offered him a $20,000 signing bonus, and he accepted it.

Because of spondylolisthesis, Lugo had to have spinal fusion surgery and miss the 2012 season. He was bedridden for three months at his mother’s after the procedure.

For the Class A-Short Season New York–Penn League’s Brooklyn Cyclones and Class A South Atlantic League’s Savannah Sand Gnats, he pitched to a 4–6 win-loss record and a 3.39 ERA in 12 games.

A-Advanced Class Florida State League St. Lucie Mets in 2014, Class AA Eastern League Binghamton Mets in 2015, and Class AAA Pacific Coast League Las Vegas 51s in 2016. After the 2015 season, the Mets put him on their 40-man roster.
