Where Is Randal Grichuk Now?

Randal Grichuk is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has also played in MLB for the St. Louis Cardinals and Toronto Blue Jays.

As recently as 2014, Randal Grichuk was touted as a major league power hitter with the athleticism and maturity to play center field. He has the ability to hit the ball with power and loft to all fields, giving him the potential to blast 20 or more home runs a season.

His bat speed through the zone is at least average and frequently faster because of his fluid and compact stroke. He is more aggressive in hitter’s counts because of his ability to recognize pitches.

However, this strategy results in a lower-than-average walk percentage and a lower-than-20% strikeout rate. That being said, one of his biggest weaknesses is that he frequently misses easy pitches, such as high fastballs over the plate.

Outfielder Kary Booher of Baseball America believes that Grichuk’s physical attributes make him a good fit for the outfield corners. He has demonstrated a low walk rate in 2013, yet he is still able to hit. More than 260 in the big leagues is required.
