Herrera hit.336 with one home run and 25 RBIs in thirty games with both clubs.

Herrera started the 2019 season with the Peoria Chiefs of the Class A Midwest League before being promoted to the Palm Beach Cardinals of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League in July; he hit.284/.374/.405 with nine home runs and 47 RBIs in 87 games between the two organizations.


After the season, he was picked to play for the Glendale Desert Dogs in the Arizona Fall League, where he was named an All-Star.

Herrera received a non-roster invite to spring training in 2020. He did not play in a minor league game in 2020 since the minor league season was canceled due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

Herrera was added to the Cardinals’ 40-man roster after the 2020 season. Herrea played most of the 2021 season with Springfield (now the Double-A Central), hitting.231/.346/.408 with 17 home runs and 63 RBIs in 98 games.

To close off the season, he appeared in one game for the Triple-A East’s Memphis Redbirds.
