Trey Mancini, first baseman for the Baltimore Orioles, and NBC Sports reporter Sara Perlman are engaged. The couple got engaged on November 3rd, 2021, on the Cliffs of Moher Coastal Walk.
Mancini returned to the Orioles in 2021 after being diagnosed with stage III colon cancer and after months of chemotherapy treatment.
He played 147 games, receiving AL Comeback Player accolades from players around Major League Baseball. Mancini reached the finals of the Home Run Derby immediately before the All-Star Game in Denver, which was one of several highlights.
Mancini has stated that Perlman was crucial in his comeback to the diamond. Doctors discovered a tumor in his intestines during spring training in 2020, after they had been dating for around four months.
In July, last year the pair told ESPN that throughout Mancini’s recuperation, they would binge-watch TV and play tennis when he was able.
Perlman revealed their genesis tale as a pair on Instagram in 2020:
“I met Trey while working at MASN a few years back,” Perlman wrote. “I still giggle when I think of a concert we performed together in 2017.” He was one of my favorite interviewees. I knew I’d get fantastic advice, and he’d be upbeat about whatever I asked! I never expected life to lead me where it has, but I’m so glad it did.
