He led the club in hits with 61 until suffering a proximal right hamstring strain on June 9. The next day, he was put on the injured list for 60 days.

Madrigal underwent hamstring surgery on June 15 and will be out for the rest of the season, according to a tweet from the Chicago White Sox on that date.
