As of July 31, 2020, Madrigal is now a member of Major League Baseball. On Friday night, he batted ninth against the Kansas City Royals, where he started at second base.



He was unable to score a single point. During a game against the Milwaukee Brewers on August 4, Madrigal suffered a separated shoulder while sliding into third base.

He was put on the injured list the following day. In 29 games, Madrigal batted.340 with no home runs and 11 RBIs for the 2020 Chicago White Sox.



He had surgery to heal his dislocated shoulder after the 2020 season.

The White Sox beat the Texas Rangers 2-1 on April 24, 2021, with a walk-off home run by Madrigal in the bottom of the ninth inning off of pitcher John King.


Against the Minnesota Twins’ J. A. Happ on May 17, 2021, Madrigal smashed his first major league home run.

A .309 hitter who also drove in 21 runs, Madrigal had a.349 on-base percentage and a .349 on-base percentage in his 54 outings.

He led the club in hits with 61 until suffering a proximal right hamstring strain on June 9. The next day, he was put on the injured list for 60 days.

Madrigal underwent hamstring surgery on June 15 and will be out for the rest of the season, according to a tweet from the Chicago White Sox on that date.
