Tyler John Anderson is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He previously played for the Colorado Rockies, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Seattle Mariners in Major League Baseball. At the University of Oregon, he was a baseball player.

Anderson played varsity baseball for four years at Spring Valley High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Andrew Checketts discovered Anderson while pitching against a rival high school while working as an assistant coach for the Oregon Ducks baseball team.

Anderson was taken in the 50th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft by the Minnesota Twins, but he did not sign.

Anderson majored in political science and played college baseball for the Ducks at the University of Oregon.

He was named to the Pac-10 All-Conference Team in 2010, his sophomore year, with a 2.98 ERA (5th Pac-10), and 105 strikeouts, which established a new Oregon single-season record and ranked sixth in the Pac-10.

After posting an 8–3 record and setting two Oregon single-season records in his junior year, Louisville Slugger named Anderson a Second Team All-American and he was named to the Pac-10 All-Conference Team.

pitching 107.2 innings with 114 strikeouts (5th Pac-10), a 2.17 ERA (4th Pac-10), and a .201 batting average against opposing batters (5th Pac-10).

With 285 strikeouts in three seasons, Anderson became the Ducks’ all-time strikeout leader.
