Ozhaino Jurdy Jiandro, better known as “Ozzie” Albies was born on January 7, 1997, to parents Osgarry and Judari, and is a Curaçaoan professional baseball second baseman for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball.

Albies was a member of the Braves’ Opening Day starting lineup in 2018. Albies hit a grand slam against the New York Mets on June 12, 2018, on the way to an 8–2 victory.

Albies is the youngest player in history to have two grand slams. Albies hit his first career walk-off home run against the Cincinnati Reds on June 25, 2018.

Albies was chosen an All-Star in his first complete season in the major leagues on July 8, 2018, despite having a.281 batting average, 18 home runs, and 50 RBIs. He got his first career multi-home run game on July 11 against the Toronto Blue Jays.

He batted.261/.305/.452 in 2018, with 24 home runs and 72 RBIs. On defense, he made 10 mistakes, which ranked fourth among all NL second basemen.

Albies signed a seven-year, $35 million contract deal with the Braves on April 11, 2019. The contract contains options for the seasons 2026 and 2027. Both years are worth $7 million, with a buyout of $4 million.

He batted.295/.353/.500 in 2019 with 102 runs, 24 home runs, 86 RBIs, and 112 strikeouts. Albies, along with teammates Ronald Acua Jr. and Freddie Freeman, received the 2019 National League Silver Slugger Awards for second base, outfield, and first base, respectively.
