J.J. Watt is a veteran defensive end, who plays for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League.  After playing college football at Central Michigan and Wisconsin, the Houston Texans selected him in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft to join their team.

Watt, who is predominantly a defensive end but occasionally converts to defensive tackle in some situations, is widely regarded as one of the greatest defensive linemen of all time after winning the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award three times in his first five seasons.

During the 2014 season, he caught three touchdown passes while also taking snaps on the offensive side of the ball. He is the all-time leader for the Texans club in terms of both sacks and fumbles forced. Watt was honored with the Sportsman of the Year title by Sports Illustrated in 2017.

J.J. Watt was born on March 22, 1989, in Pewaukee, Wisconsin to parents Connie and John Watt. He is currently 33 years old.

  J.J.’s two younger brothers both compete in the NFL for the Pittsburgh Steelers. T. J. Watt plays outside linebacker, while Derek Watt is a fullback. From the age of four to thirteen, Watt played ice hockey for competitive teams that went on trips to Canada and Germany.

He stopped playing hockey because it became too expensive and his weekly games began to interfere with his schedule. Additionally, Watt was a lifelong football player who developed a fondness for the game in the fifth grade.
