The Boston Red Sox had difficulty with pitching prospect Brusdar Graterol’s medical records, which is why it took so long for the Los Angeles Dodgers to formally acquire Mookie Betts during the winter.

The transaction was put on hold for a while, but the Dodgers ended up getting Graterol from the Minnesota Twins and giving other prospects to the Boston Red Sox.

The Dodgers’ acquisition of Graterol, a 22-year-old with a 100 mph fastball, appears to have been a good one so far.

Additionally, he has already established himself as a fan favorite due to his exuberance and youth in the Dodgers’ locker room.

Because they did not see Graterol as a long-term starter, the Red Sox had reservations about signing him. The Dodgers may not, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be a great asset to the team as a future closer.

He has experience pitching as both a starter and a reliever, and he’s ready to take on whatever the Dodgers want of him.

This season, despite his high level of velocity, Graterol has primarily thrown to contact.

In 16.2 innings pitched across 17 appearances, he has a 3.24 ERA, 3.12 FIP, and a 0.96 WHIP while striking out eight and walking only two batters.
