Sean Reid-Foley is an American professional baseball pitcher who currently plays for the New York Mets of the MLB (MLB). When the 2014 MLB Draft opened, the Toronto Blue Jays made a second-round pick out of high school to get him.
As a member of the US Coast Guard, Reid-father, Foley’s Dave, was stationed on Guam at the time of his birth. Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, Florida, is where Reid-Foley went to high school.
A no-hitter with 16 strikeouts as a junior against Flagler Palm Coast High School in 2013 was just one of the many highlights of his high school career.
David, his older brother, was a catcher at Mercer University before signing as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2013. In 2014, the Dodgers shifted him from a hitter to a pitcher.
During the 2014 MLB draft, the Toronto Blue Jays selected him in round two. On June 10, 2014, the Blue Jays signed Reid-Foley to a one-year, $1.128 million contract. On June 27,
he made his major league debut with the Rookie-level Blue Jays in the Gulf Coast League. In nine appearances (six starts), he had a record of 1–2 with a 4.76 ERA.
