Sean Bouchard, a professional baseball first baseman and outfielder for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball, was born on May 16, 1996. On June 16, 2022, he was summoned.
Between his freshman and sophomore UCLA seasons, Bouchard suited up with the Gulls. The San Diego, California native, a product of one of the most illustrious college baseball teams, became the 87th Bruin to play in the major leagues.
Bouchard made his Major League Baseball debut for the Colorado Rockies against the San Diego Padres, drawing a walk in his first at-bat.
Father’s Day was the day of the game.
Bouchard, a 2015 Newport Gull, became the 28th member of the organization to play in the main leagues on Sunday, June 19, when he was called up to make his major league debut with the Colorado Rockies.
This is a well-deserved promotion for Bouchard, who was chosen by the Rockies in the ninth round of the 2017 MLB Draft and developed into one of the best hitters at the AAA level last year.
With a 26-game on-base streak, Bouchard left the Isotopes. He had the best stretch of his professional career during his 37 games with Albuquerque, where he made his AAA debut and batted.338 with 11 home runs and 34 RBI.
