Who Cleared The Roof At Tiger Stadium?

As we all know, the Detroit Tigers play their home games at Tiger Stadium in Major League Baseball. Since the year 2000, it has served as the League team’s residence. It is known that the stadium has the Comerica Bank name, which was established in Detroit.

In the year 1984, the stadium was established. Before that, the Tigers were committed to playing their games near the intersection of Michigan and Trumbull Avenues in the Corktown district of Detroit ever since Bennett Park’s opening in 1896. Following that, Tigers owner Frank Navin issued a directive for the construction of a new ballpark to be located on the same site. After that, in 1912, the Tiger Stadium, as it is now called, was officially opened.

In 1997, in October, there was a ceremony to officially break ground on the new stadium. After that, on April 11, 2000, the inaugural game on the field took place against the Seattle Mariners.

In the year 2014, the Tigers disclosed a renovation idea that was worth 4 million dollars at the time. The renovation was to cover and enhance Comerica Park’s Pepsi Porch. The renovation detailed the removal of the bleachers that were once was known to have occupied the space and the addition of new seats.

Only two players had reached the left roof by the end of 1990. The first was Minnesota’s Harmon Killebrew in 1962, and Frank Howard of Washington came second six years later. Cecil Fielder, a first baseman with the Tigers, entered the select group of sluggers on August 25, 1990, during a Saturday game against Oakland.
