Owen Miller

Owen Miller is an American professional baseball infielder for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2021.

As part of the deal including Mike Clevinger, Greg Allen, and Matt Waldron for Miller, Austin Hedges, Cal Quantrill, Josh Naylor, and Gabriel Arias, among others, the Cleveland Indians acquired the players mentioned above (as well as Joe Cantillo) on August 31, 2020.

This year’s minor league season was cancelled due to COVID-19, hence he didn’t play any games in 2020. This season, Columbus Clippers of the Triple-A East assigned him.

When the Indians selected him to the team’s 40-man roster on May 23, 2021, Miller was promoted to the main leagues for the first time.

Over 16 games with Columbus before his promotion to the major leagues, he was batting.406 with two home runs and nine runs batted in.

At bats against the Minnesota Twins, he went hitless and struck out three times in his major league debut as a designated hitter. It was against Spencer Turnbull of the Detroit Tigers on May 24 that he got his first major – hit, an infield single.

On July 31, Miller smashed his first career home run against Chicago White Sox pitcher Dallas Keuchel.

Professional baseball infielder Owen Miller was born alongside Loren  Miller and Noah Miller. Owen’s younger brother, Noah is also a baseball player.

Noah plies his trade as a professional baseball shortstop for the Minnesota Twins organization.

Major League Baseball draftee Miller was taken 36th overall by the Minnesota Twins. That year, he went in the first round of the draft’s competitive balancing round, going between the first and second regular round picks.
