QB Ian Book plays American football for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. He weighs 93 pounds and stands 1.83 meters tall. He played football at Oak Ridge High School, where he also attended. At the University of Notre Dame, he played football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
He made the choice to redshirt his first year in order to keep one more year of eligibility. In the 2018 Citrus Bowl, he came off the bench to assist the Irish in their 21-17 victory over LSU. He announced on Instagram that, starting in December 2019, he would return to Notre Dame as a redshirt senior for a fifth season.
As of December 2020, he was the most successful quarterback in Notre Dame football history with 30 career victories as a starter. His 72 touchdown throws rank second all-time in program history. He finished tenth in the Heisman Trophy voting. In the College Football Playoff, he led Notre Dame to the Rose Bowl Semifinal Round, where they ultimately lost to Alabama.
Book was chosen by the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the 133rd overall pick. He signed a four-year rookie contract with New Orleans in June 2021. On August 31, 2022, the Philadelphia Eagles claimed Book off of waivers.
