Kenley Jansen’s full name is Kenley Geronimo Jansen. He is from Curaçao and is known to be a professional baseball player who plays as a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves baseball team.



Jansen was born September 30, 1987, in Willemstad, Curaçao to Isidor Jansen and Bernadette Jansen. He is the last born of his parents. His older brother is also a baseball player.

Jansen learned to play baseball at the age of six. He used to play with his older brothers. He first started playing as an outfielder and then moved to be a shortstop. He later took the position of first baseman and catcher.



The Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team signed Jansen as an international undrafted free agent catcher in November 2004. He later changed from being a catcher to a relief pitcher. After, he was assigned to play in minor leagues. He first played for the Rookie Class Gulf Coast Dodgers after which he was promoted to play for the Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer League in August that same year.

Jansen got promoted to the major leagues in 2010 and he made his MLB debut in July that year playing for the Dodgers. Jansen left the Dodgers in 2021 and signed a one year contract worth $16 million with the Atlanta Braves baseball team in March 2022.
