Darius Slayton Contract, Salary and Net Worth

Darius Slayton has agreed to take a wage reduction for the last year of his rookie contract.

That means Slayton is safe from being released or traded for the time being.

Due to performance-based escalators, Slayton’s salary for 2022, his fourth season, was set to reach $2.54 million. The new minimum salary for a player with three years of experience in the league will be $965,000. This results in an increase of $1.57 million in available capital for Schoen.

The news that Slayton had received a wage cut was initially published in Newsday.

The mess with the salary cap was left to Schoen by the previous general manager, Dave Gettleman, and he has spent the whole offseason working to get out of it. Sterling Shepard, an outside linebacker, and Blake Martinez, an inside linebacker, both previously had taken pay cuts; however, Martinez was later released
