Mauricio Dubón, a Honduran professional baseball shortstop and center fielder for the Major League Baseball San Francisco Giants, was born on July 19, 1994.

Dubón was drafted in the 26th round of the 2013 MLB draft by the Boston Red Sox out of high school. In 2019, he made his Major League Baseball debut with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Dubón was born and raised in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, where he attended the Liceo Bilingue Centroamericano. Dubón began to practice harder on the field at the age of 15 after a Christian baseball mission group visited Honduras.

When the Capital Christian High School saw Dubón play, they asked him if he wanted to return to the United States with the group, so he could perfect his baseball abilities while still in high school.

Dubón went to Sacramento, California, as a foreign exchange student to attend Capital Christian. Before being picked by Boston, he had a.509 batting average (86-for-169) in his junior and senior years at Capital Christian High School, with 23 doubles, 14 triples, eight home runs, and 81 RBIs. Baseball America named him the top defensive prospect among the Red Sox draft choices in 2013.
