Travis Demeritte is an American professional baseball second baseman and outfielder for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Detroit Tigers.

The Texas Rangers selected Winder-Barrow High School’s Demeritte in the first round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft.

Hitting the Arizona League Rangers, Demeritte made his professional debut in 2013 and spent the entire season there, with four home runs and 20 RBIs in 39 games.

Since moving from his original position of shortstop to second base for Hickory Crawdads in the 2014 season, his average has been.211 with 25 home runs and 65 RBIs in the 118 games he has played.

Demeritte made a triumphant return to Hickory in 2015. He was suspended for 80 games after testing positive for Furosemide in June of that year.

After his ban was up, he played for the Adelaide Bite of the Australian Baseball League, where he set records for the most games played in a season (56) and strikeouts (60).

Demeritte was demoted to the Spokane Indians upon his return to Minor League Baseball, where he spent the rest of the season.
